プログラムを通じて、どのような変化や成果がありましたか?

In the Taiwan program I participated in, each day generally followed a flow of lectures and discussions in the morning, followed by cultural exchange and fieldwork in the afternoon. The morning sessions in particular covered themes related to the SDGs and social issues, with many opportunities to exchange opinions through discussions with fellow Kansai University students and local Taiwanese students.
Through these experiences, I came to strongly feel the joy of discovering differences. Things that I had taken for granted in Japan are not necessarily the same elsewhere in the world, and conversely, what is common abroad can be seen quite differently in Japan. Each time I encountered such differences, I found myself genuinely enjoying the question of ""why does this differ?""
Living in Taiwan in particular offered many opportunities to notice the differences between Japan and Taiwan. By learning about differences in culture, values, and ways of perceiving things, I was able to look back and reflect on assumptions I had always considered natural. I also found that connecting my own knowledge with others' perspectives and broader global ways of thinking allowed me to understand things more deeply.
Until now, I had often expressed opinions based primarily on my own views. Through this study abroad experience, however, I learned the importance of forming opinions while considering the background, culture, and values of others. By comparing how things are perceived in Taiwan versus Japan, I feel that the range of my perspectives has expanded significantly.

プログラムでの学びを、今後どのように生かしたいと考えていますか?

I want to carry with me, even after entering the workforce, the attitude of recognizing differences with others and reflecting on the backgrounds and values behind them. In a professional setting, there are many opportunities to interact with people who hold a variety of positions and perspectives. Rather than judging solely based on my own thinking, I believe that trying to understand what experiences and values shape another person's opinion leads to smoother communication.
I also believe that by embracing differences with others in a positive light, it becomes possible to discover new perspectives and better approaches. Just as my exposure to different cultures and ways of thinking during my time abroad expanded the range of my opinions, I hope to continue broadening my own horizons by incorporating diverse viewpoints even after entering the workforce.
I want to apply these lessons as the ability to engage in dialogue while respecting others and to move things forward through cooperation. I aspire to become a working professional who can build relationships of trust with those around me by embracing diverse values, and who can turn that into better outcomes.

OSIPプログラムへの参加を考えている学生にむけて、メッセージをお願いします。

When studying abroad or taking on a new environment, it is natural to feel anxious. However, once you actually take the plunge, you encounter ways of thinking and values you never knew before, and that becomes a source of tremendous learning. Through exchanging opinions with many people in Taiwan, I personally learned the joy of discovering differences and the importance of considering the background behind others' perspectives.
At first, I was nervous about whether I could express my thoughts clearly, but through repeated dialogue with others, my perspective and the range of my opinions gradually expanded. Experiences such as realizing that things taken for granted in Japan are seen differently in other countries, and reflecting on those differences, were truly invaluable.
Beyond that, I think one of the greatest appeals is the chance to meet lifelong friends who are irreplaceable. I was the only fourth-year student in the group, graduating ahead of everyone else, but when the time came, they gave me a wonderful send-off that left me feeling truly warm and grateful. The bonds formed with people you meet while studying abroad are special, going beyond simply sharing the same time together to building relationships where you can support and encourage one another. Even now, we have regular opportunities to meet, and each time I find great joy in sharing memories from our time abroad and catching up on each other's lives.
To those of you who are about to take on this challenge, I hope you will engage with as many people as possible without fear of failure. Encountering opinions and values different from your own will surely contribute to your own growth. Cherish the experiences you gain in a new environment, absorb as much as you can, and find a way of learning that is uniquely your own.
