Global Campus Trial (OSIP) Spain Program – Part 3 |“Cultural Day” Japanese Culture Experience Event Held at CEU Valencia

On March 10, we held a Japanese cultural experience event called “Cultural Day” on the campus of CEU Valencia!
For Cultural Day, Kansai University students were divided into four teams, and each team introduced one Japanese cultural activity—calligraphy, tea ceremony, Hanafuda (traditional Japanese playing cards), and Ayatori (cat’s cradle string game)—to Spanish students and invited them to experience it themselves.
Before departing for Spain, the Kansai University students worked hard to prepare for the event. Within their teams, they discussed how to explain their activities in English and how to make them easier for Spanish students to understand, going through a lot of trial and error during the preparation process.
On the day of the event, many Spanish students came to participate! Although they initially struggled with the unique manners and unfamiliar techniques of the activities, the Kansai University students carefully explained each activity using the materials they had prepared in advance. In the end, the Spanish students truly enjoyed participating in all of the activities organized by each team.
