The OSIP Short-term career support program for Filipino engineers

On Monday, February 23, an online pre-trip session was held as part of the OSIP Short-Term Career Support Program for Filipino engineers who aspire to settle and work in Japan. The session included lectures on topics such as self-analysis, active listening, and the concept of culture - key knowledge and perspectives during their job hunting in Japan.

The program consists of online pre-trip sessions as well as two-day in-person training at Kansai University following arrival in Japan, and provides opportunities for intercultural understanding, community building, and collaborative learning with Kansai University student buddies. In the latter half of the online session, participants also engaged in interactions with Kansai University student buddies and enjoyed getting to know each other before meeting in-person.

The Filipino engineers are scheduled to arrive in Japan in early March. After completing training at Kansai University, including mock interviews and intercultural understanding sessions, they will proceed to their actual job-hunting.
