OSIP Global Campus Trial Spring 2025 | Seven-Day Program at Prince of Songkla University (Phuket, Thailand) Begins: Program Report (Days 1–3)

Day 0

Sawasdee-kap! The 2025 Spring OSIP Program at Prince of Songkla University (PSU) has officially kicked off! We traded the freezing Japanese winter for the 35-degree heat of Phuket. We can't wait to dive into the hands-on learning and get to know the local students. Let’s make this an unforgettable journey!

Day 1

Day 1 started with a warm welcome session at PSU. In the afternoon, we headed to Old Phuket Farm to learn about traditional Thai agriculture alongside local students. The highlight of the day was definitely the Chillva Night Market! Between the incredible street food and the vibrant shopping scene, we got a real taste of the local culture!

Day 2

We kicked off Day 2 with an online session on teamwork skills led by a professor from Kansai University. Working through challenges with the local students was a blast! In the afternoon, we had a coral reef survey class that involved actual snorkeling. Seeing the reefs firsthand while learning about the balance between conservation and tourism was such an eye-opening experience for all of us.

Day 3

Day 3 was all about intercultural understanding and diversity. Now that we’ve found our rhythm, our group discussions were even more lively and productive than yesterday! The cherry on top was our afternoon excursion: meeting elephants! It was such an intimate, hands-on experience—way more than we ever expected. We definitely unlocked some core memories today!
