OSIP Global Talent × Cross-border Education Forum 2025 Held
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Kansai University co-hosted the OSIP Global Talent × Cross-border Education Forum 2025 with ACUMEN, an educational consulting company based in India, at the InterContinental Hotel Osaka.
In recent years, cooperation between Japan and India has continued to expand, particularly in the areas of human resource development, education, and industry–academia collaboration.
This forum was held to examine concrete approaches for connecting talented Indian students with Japanese universities and companies, and to discuss how cross-border education initiatives can support this process.
A panel discussion titled “Defining Skills and Education through Industry–Academia Collaboration: Career Pathway Design” brought together nine panelists from universities and companies. The discussion focused on how universities and industry can work together to provide students with practical learning opportunities, how education can be designed for multicultural and multilingual classrooms, and how educational programs can better support students’ career paths after graduation. Panelists also discussed specific challenges, including differences between academic curricula and workplace skill requirements, methods for evaluating learning outcomes, and the need for continuous collaboration between universities and industry.
The forum also included remarks from the Consul General of India in Osaka–Kobe, as well as a networking session between forum participants and Indian students. In addition, the results of a survey of approximately 3,000 students in India and Malaysia were presented and shared with participants.
Through OSIP, Kansai University positions India as a priority partner country. The university is working to attract and support Indian students who can contribute to a wide range of fields, including engineering, IT, services, hospitality, international business, tourism, and care-related industries. For Japan, particularly in the Osaka region, where labor shortages and changes in industrial structure are becoming more pronounced, Indian students and graduates are expected to play an important role.
Based on the discussions and findings of this forum, Kansai University will continue to collaborate with overseas educational institutions, companies, and public organizations. The university will focus on improving cross-border education programs and expanding learning opportunities that directly connect students’ studies with their future careers.
