The OSIP program includes the implementation of a "Pre-Departure Online Training" and a "Project Ideathon."

On February 17, as part of the Ministry of Education's “University Globalization for Social Impact” initiative (Osaka Social Impact Project; OSIP), a pre-departure training session was held online for international students participating in a career development program.

The training was attended by approximately 30 students from the Philippines. In the first half of the session, participants learned about Japan’s hiring process, corporate culture, and the structure of on-site internships. In the second half, students took the lead in learning key skills necessary for building a career in Japan, including self-analysis, intercultural communication, and active listening. The participating students are scheduled to arrive in Japan at the end of February and will take part in a collaborative learning program with local students.

On February 24, the Project Ideathon was held at the Umeda Campus.

This project is an industry-academia collaboration, featuring corporate professionals as mentors. Domestic and international students from Kansai University and Osaka Metropolitan University worked together to discuss the future vision of Osaka as an international tourism and cultural city. The goal of the project was to develop proposals and present their ideas for the city’s future.

A mid-term presentation was held on the day, serving as a progress report on each team’s proposal. The students showed strong commitment as they refined their slides and presentations in preparation for the final presentation scheduled for March 15.
