Kickoff Meeting Held for the “Problem-Driven Social Impact Co-Creation Education Project (Osaka Social Impact Project)”
The kickoff meeting for “Osaka Changemakers: A Problem-Driven Social Impact Co-Creation Education Project (Osaka Social Impact Project, or OSIP Project),” jointly implemented by Kansai University and Osaka Metropolitan University and selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s (MEXT) program to promote social impact through university globalization, was held on March 17 at the InterContinental Hotel Osaka in Kita Ward, Osaka. The event gathered approximately 60 participants.
Following opening remarks by Vice President and Director of the International Affairs Division, Professor Osamu Takeuchi, Professor Keiko Ikeda of Kansai University’s International Affairs Division gave an overview of the initiatives conducted in FY2024 to develop global talent, and introduced various programs planned for FY2025.
Many corporate representatives in attendance expressed interest in actively supporting the project.
The OSIP project is a six-year initiative running through FY2029, aiming to cultivate future leaders who will drive social transformation, with Osaka as the central hub. Leveraging Osaka’s rapid growth as an international city promoting multicultural coexistence, the project focuses on fostering individuals who can address social issues from a global perspective rooted in local communities, ultimately contributing to transformative impact across Japanese society.
