The Global Campus Trial (OSIP) Philippines Program - Part 2│Group 2 Arrives at Lapu-Lapu Cebu International University, Joint Cultural Exchange Event Held

The second group of the Lapu-Lapu Cebu International University program has arrived, and a joint cultural exchange event with both Group 1 and Group 2 was held together with local students.
Prior to the event, Kansai University students and Filipino students were divided into groups and held a series of online meetings to plan what activities they would conduct for the event.
On the day, Kansai University students introduced aspects of Japanese culture such as origami and omikuji (fortune slips), while the Filipino students presented how to make “halo-halo,” a traditional Filipino dessert.
This provided a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of each other’s cultures. In addition, meeting in person and running the event together with students they had previously interacted with online felt like a fresh and exciting experience for the students.
After the event, some groups even went out for a meal together, and it seems that the prior online interactions helped foster deeper connections once they met in person.
