Global Campus Trial (OSIP) Spain Program – Part 2 | One Week In
Lectures at CEU Valencia started on Wednesday. Students attended classes on the cultural and value differences between Japan and Spain, as well as lectures that explore the challenges of aging societies in both countries—the main theme of this program—from various perspectives. Although they sometimes find it challenging, everyone is doing their best to participate in discussions with local students. Daily lunchtime with the local students has also become one of the highlights of the program.
In the afternoons, the students go on fieldwork in Valencia, visiting the historic old town as well as areas lined with modern architecture. Through these visits, they are learning firsthand about the history and unique characteristics of the city.
On Friday, we visited EDEM Business School. The students enjoyed taking part in a workshop typical of a business school, where they developed a new product inspired by two randomly selected photographs.
Over the weekend, they participated in Las Fallas, Valencia’s traditional fire festival. Firecrackers echoed throughout the city, and the students experienced the powerful explosions throughout their bodies. They also enjoyed paella, which originated in Valencia, making it a truly special experience unique to Spain.
