Kansai University Hosts Student Exchange with California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB)4/5
On June 10, 2026, students enrolled in English Skills for Study Abroad (33 participants) took part in a multicultural collaborative learning activity with students from California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB).
In addition to presentations by Kansai University students, CSUB students also gave presentations on California pop culture, creating an opportunity for participants to compare and discuss cultural trends in Japan and the United States.
One of the most engaging topics of the day was hamburgers and fast-food culture. Alongside an introduction to the well-known California chain In-N-Out Burger, CSUB students also shared recommendations for local burger restaurants that they considered even better. The discussion sparked considerable interest among the participants and generated lively conversation throughout the session.
For students planning to study abroad at CSUB in September, the activity further increased their excitement about life in California. By connecting through shared interests and exchanging firsthand insights about local culture and daily life, the program provided a meaningful opportunity for students to deepen their intercultural understanding and build new friendships.
