Multicultural Collaborative Learning with the University of Minnesota

On May 15, 20 students from the University of Minnesota visited Kansai University and participated in a Science of Washoku (Japanese Cuisine) class.

During the session, students discussed differences in food culture between Japan and the United States, as well as perspectives on food and health. Through these discussions, all students gained valuable insights into each other's cultural backgrounds, traditions, and philosophies reflected in everyday food practices.

The experience provided a unique opportunity to deepen intercultural understanding through a topic that is familiar to food.

OSIP will continue to develop practical learning opportunities, promote multicultural collaborative learning, and expand its Multicultural Collaborative Learning (MCL) course offerings to foster meaningful international exchange and global engagement.
