Student–Company Exchange Session #2

On Tuesday, June 2, the second “Student-Company Exchange Session” was held for international students. This time, representatives from Opto System Co., Ltd.  (https://www.opto-system.co.jp/) visited us and gave a presentation on topics such as the semiconductor-related business, BtoB business, and overseas expansion.

In the second half of the session, students divided into groups and exchanged opinions based on the discussion topics provided by the company. The topics included “the level of trust in ‘Made in Japan’ in your home country,” “whether language or culture/business customs are more important in BtoB,” and “the importance of semiconductors in your home country.” The students considered these topics seriously from the perspectives of their respective countries and regions, and then gave presentations.

During the group discussions, representatives from the company also joined each group and directly answered students’ questions. For students who are usually more familiar with electronic devices as final products, this was a very valuable opportunity to learn about the roles and challenges of companies that support the semiconductor industry behind the scenes.
